A Week of Smallmouth…
Three out of four days we were able to fish where we wanted. Big fish along with very good numbers is what we found. The wind is still our biggest obstacle.
The presentation had to be perfect, but when it was, we were rewarded. 5.26 was biggest but a couple that may have surpassed that fish didn’t make it to the boat.
The bed-fishing tourists have come and gone. It is now just a handful of boats in many miles of smallmouth waters. There are no “dog days of summer” on the big water.
Too Busy to Update this Site?
And the reason for lack of updates? Fishing! More and more smallies are joining the ranks of POST SPAWN. Soon we will have the best fishing of the year as all of the brown fish will be in the same areas–doing the same thing–feeding.
Although not the numbers we will get in a few weeks, we have been getting a substantial number over 4 lbs. with one weighing in at 6.20 lbs. 20 to 40 smallies has been the norm and very soon that will double.
From now until September we will go to the big lake whenever the weather allows. If it doesn’t allow we have a couple of inland lakes that are producing and we can fish in areas protected from high winds. On the big lake–no place to hide.
Thanks to our clients who have forwarded pictures that were taken on our charters. My fish-finding is good but your photography is better than mine!
Typical June Fishing–Fun!
The busiest June Coach’s Angle Charters has ever had is winding down. The fishing is not winding down. As a matter of fact, it is heating up as more and more smallmouth are joining the ranks of POSTSPAWN. As our returning clients will tell you–that’s the time to come for more action.
Enjoy these photos of all ages enjoying this wonderful area. Several smallies pictured between four and five–a couple well over five lbs.
I’ve been so busy that I do not get to update this site on a regular basis. For daily update go to facebook Coach’s Angle Smallmouth Charters.
